He most popular fictional characters were the detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple. He books have sold around 4 billion copies and have been translated into over 100 languages. This image shows Christie realising a life-long dream of visiting Greece. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs.
